Olympus VR-320: Pocket-friendly long zoom with HD video capture
Kicking off the company’s announcements prior to the start of the CP+ tradeshow in Japan, Olympus has launched a new long-zoom compact camera offering high-def 720p video capture, the Olympus VR-320. Based around a 14 megapixel CCD image sensor and an Olympus-branded 12.5x optical zoom lens, the VR-320 offers 35mm-equivalent focal lengths from a generous 24mm wide angle to a powerful 300mm telephoto. Olympus has today revealed its latest ultra zoom digital camera model: the Olympus SZ-10. Coupling a 14 megapixel CCD sensor and an 18x optical zoom lens, the SZ-10 provides everything from a useful 28mm-equivalent wide angle to a whopping 504mm telephoto. As you’d expect with this much reach, Olympus includes a sensor shift image stabilization system. Olympus VG-110: Sub-$100 ultracompact targets the value-conscious
Olympus Corp. has today announced imminent availability of the Olympus VG-110 ultracompact digital camera. The Olympus VG110 combines a twelve effective megapixel image sensor and an Olympus-branded 4x optical zoom lens in an ultracompact body. Sadly — but perhaps not surprisingly, given the pricing — the Olympus VG-110 lacks any form of mechanical image stabilization. Olympus Announces Two Compact Ultrazooms
Olympus has announced two new compact ultra zoom cameras: the $250 18x SZ-10 and the $200 12X VR-320. The company also announced the VG-110, a $90 12-megapixel compact with a 4x zoom.
Fuji X100: Pricing, availability announced for fixed-lens APS-C camera
Fujifilm USA has today ended speculation, by announcing pricing and availability for its upcoming FinePix X100 fixed-lens APS-C digital camera, whose development was first revealed at the Photokina tradeshow last September. The Fujifilm FinePix X100 has a retro design, a twelve megapixel APS-C sized image sensor, a newly developed Fujifilm EXR processor, and a fixed focal length Fujinon 23mm lens with a maximum aperture of f/2 which provides a field of view roughly equivalent to a 35mm lens on a 35mm camera.
