Samsung launches entry level PL20/ES80 cameras

Maybe someday I will grasp the Marketing rationale behind the current camera product plans with so many cameras that have only marginal differences in their pixel count, optical zoom range and LCD screen size. Olympus introduces four more compact cameras

Following its abundant camera launch at CES, Olympus now introduces four more compact cameras. The Tough TG-610 is waterproof to a depth of 5 mtr, shockproof against falls from 1.5 mtr and freezeproof at temps as low as -10°C. The new VR-330 comes with 12.5x optical zoom, a large-screen 3-inch monitor, DUAL IS, and 3D shooting mode, where as the VR-320 comes without the 3D mode. Olympus announces the SZ-10 compact digital camera that is perfect for travel and sports and features an 18x ultra-zoom lens, DUAL IS, and HD (1280 x 720) movies. Pentax announces Optio WG-1 and WG-1 GPS

Pentax announces its 12th generation of adventure series digital cameras, the new Optio WG-1 and WG-1 GPS. The new model features a 14 Mp sensor, 5x internal optical zoom (28-140mm equiv.), a 2.7 inch LCD, and is waterproof to 33 feet, shockproof to withstand falls up to 5 feet and coldproof to sub-freezing temps of -10 degrees C. Olympus VR-320: Pocket-friendly long zoom with HD video capture

Kicking off the company’s announcements prior to the start of the CP+ tradeshow in Japan, Olympus has launched a new long-zoom compact camera offering high-def 720p video capture, the Olympus VR-320. Based around a 14 megapixel CCD image sensor and an Olympus-branded 12.5x optical zoom lens, the VR-320 offers 35mm-equivalent focal lengths from a generous 24mm wide angle to a powerful 300mm telephoto. Olympus has today revealed its latest ultra zoom digital camera model: the Olympus SZ-10. Coupling a 14 megapixel CCD sensor and an 18x optical zoom lens, the SZ-10 provides everything from a useful 28mm-equivalent wide angle to a whopping 504mm telephoto. Olympus VG-110: Sub-$100 ultracompact targets the value-conscious

Olympus Corp. has today announced imminent availability of the Olympus VG-110 ultracompact digital camera. The Olympus VG110 combines a twelve effective megapixel image sensor and an Olympus-branded 4x optical zoom lens in an ultracompact body.
